Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Shells Recipe

A delightful recipe that combines creamy ricotta and fresh spinach in perfectly baked pasta shells, ideal for family dinners.

  • 12 large jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, spinach, mozzarella, parmesan, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Fill each pasta shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
  5. In a baking dish, spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom.
  6. Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish and top with remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, sprinkle with additional cheese, and bake for another 10 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, use whole wheat pasta shells.
  • Add cooked ground meat for extra protein.
