Chicken Bhuna

Chicken Bhuna is a rich and flavorful dish that brings a taste of traditional Indian cuisine to your family table.

  • 1 pound chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they are golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  5. Pour in the pureed tomatoes and mix well.
  6. Add garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt.
  7. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Once the chicken is tender, garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with rice or naan for a complete meal.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken with spices overnight.
