  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the French bread into cubes and place it in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  4. Pour the mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  5. Slice the bananas and add them to the bread mixture.
  6. Melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the rum, then pour it over the casserole.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and set.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
